What are you running, did you go for standard or did you go with a higher amp model ,

I always buy whatever has the "lifetime warrenty".

Usually higher amp to power the 1000 watt stereo if it's available.

I believe 105 amps is stock. That is what I run.

I installed a 140 amp to replace my 105 amp in my 86. It charges more at idle speed and I believe it will run cooler and last longer.

Is the 140 amp a straight swap for the 105 amp?

Where did you buy it from and if you don't mind me asking ......how much did you pay for it ?

Was looking this morning and they have a couple higher amp alternators on ebay for ~$120 + shipping with lifetime warranties, don't know who you would return it to if it went out though.

try the Gold series alternators at Autozone.....lifetime warranty.....$109.
