automatic door locking on 95
Just got a 95 LT1 with PASS keyless entry system alarm system. This is my first Chevrolet product and was wondering about the door lock features.
If i don't have the PASS transmitter in range of the car should the doors unlock automatically when i turn the key off?
Also should the doors lock automatically when i start the car, put it in drive and drive off?
Second subject: Will it run better if i put ford emblems on the side and hood?

Took me a minute to figure out what PASS was. It's called "passive keyless entry."

thanks.
I have an owners manual and a Helms 2 volume service manual. neither show it will do what i hoped it would do.
I was just wishfully thinking and have been spoiled by my fords.
I asked because i installed remote start/window rollup/2 stage door unlock/door unlock/ hatchback release before i checked out what the factory functions were and they messed up the remote start install. i am getting all kind of funny actions from the remote start. For instance when it remote starts the doors will unlock every 2 to 3 minutes.
I wanted confirmation of what was stock before i returned to the installer.
thanks.

Can't help you with the PKE question but if you put Ford emblems on a Corvette it will cause the fiberglass to rust.

That is a good one! Fiberglass rusting. I worried that it might be Found on the Road Dead or have to be Fixed Or Repaired Daily.

"Passive" because you don't have to push buttons to lock/unlock the door.

Pass-key is what was originally called VATS, which has to do with the ignition key. Has nothing to do with the keyless entry.

Don't tell me, tell Helms Inc. They are the ones using the wrong terminology in their service manuals.
I guess GM should correct their owners manuals also. Page 2-14 says that PASS-Key is a "passive theft deterent system".

Exactly. Passive theft deterent system is the ignition key with the resistor pellet in it.
PKE "Passive Keyless Entry" is the fob.

No correction needed, as you are reading in the manual about the ignition key security system, not the keyless entry. As I said.
