Bose Gold Cassette Replacement
I did a quick search and was suprised with the lack of info.
I realize that the whole thing has to come out (head unit, speakers, wiring...) but the stock system is just awful - and can't play CDs.
The replacement head unit is actually a stock toyota unit (they also run double din chassis) I like the big buttons and the fact that it's black. It's one of those in dash 6 disk changers. I can't believe my friend actually pulled it out of his matrix. I'm trying to get a set of plugs and pigtails for the Toyota unit at the same time.
My questions:
1. What are the wiring positions on the plug and what does each wire do?
2. Is there a color chart of which wire is which color?
3. Is there a good location to find an adaptor which fits the male end of the stock wiring harness with the keyed power, antenna, ground, continuous power (for the clock).
4. Is the antenna just a regular old 75 Ohm connector or is it something strange?
Thanks
First off, you won't get the bose speakers to work with the Toyota head without some serious love. Especially if the toyota head is something "premium".
You never checked Audio.
Forums ===> General Corvette ===> Audio/Electronics.
IT also means you never checked the C4 Tech FAQ, which has links to the C4 Audio FAQ in Audio. It's a sticky.
All the info you want is there... the rest... good luck...
I would lose the bose speakers while your at it. You might get a good deal on Honda speakers.

I am not so sure the Toyota head will fit right...
