My car is finally complete it's 500 mile engine break-in. Tomorrow, out comes the regular oil and in will go the Mobil 1.
I just noticed the last couple of days that the Oil Pressure has been reading a bit high. Under acceleration, that's normal, but it is staying high during idle too. It does, once warm, seem to react normally and the analog gauge will show normal lower PSI readings for idle. Any tips for what to look at, beside the oil sender switch connection?
Oil pressure at any engine speed will be higher cold than warm. You mentioned your analog gauge, how about your read-out?
Oh - oh, it's time for me to learn something. I can get my oil temp on the read-out by cycling through the "Gauges" button, but do not know how to get the oil pressure to show up.
From this afternoon's run, hot was normal. betwen gears/idling, it drops down to close to the second tick mark, with the tranny engaged, it goes up close to the pegged mark, but not to it all the way.

Now THERE is a trouble shooters nightmare! Beware the "second tick mark". It is obvious you are concerned, hopefully for no cause, but before anyone can get too excited about oil pressure, it must be verified and quantified with a known good, mechanical, gauge.

Don't waste your time, I had a brain-fart. It is only the oil temp that shows up there.

RACE ON!!!
I'm less technical than that - when hot, the gaugebehaves as it has normally, so I'm OK with that. I've just not noticed the same behavior, from the get-go, before.
