Has anyone tried one of those do it yourself AC recharge kits from the local auto store in your vette? Do they work? What should I look out for? My AC is not broke but it could probably use a little pick me up. It's been pretty hot down here in Louisiana lately.
Assuming your A/C is 134A and not R12 then I would buy one of the cans w/ the guage attached (assuming you do not have a guage set). Connect to the low side of the system.
Crank the car, put on max a/c w/ fan on high.
The pressure on the low side should be right at 40 psi max. This is just when the compressor cuts back off. If 45 psi or more you need to let a touch of coolant out. If low - add small amounts at at time until you get to 40 psi at compressor shutoff.
