Default 4 + 3 question

I am getting ready to put in my 383 and change my tranny. I have one from a 87 that has been rebuilt not long ago and I want to put it in my 85. The question I have is will it work since the 87 tranny doesn't use a TV cable like the 85.

Do you mean, yes, the 87 does have a TV cable? If it does then this transmission I have must be newer then that because it doesn't even have a hole for the cable to go into.

Are you certain of that? cause mine did and so did another one i looked at. Its no big deal if it doesnt, it will have the vacuum governor instead, which is easy enough to hook up.

Ain't no vac line running to any model 4+3
Early models have the cable , later ones only have wires going to them
