pulling the engine on my 94 automatic. Anyone know how many bellhousing bolts there are & how in the heck you are supposed to get to them. Have everything done except the bellhousing bolts. Thanks for the help...
Should be 6 bolts.
To get to them in car you'll need to lower the transmission and let it tilt the engine with it. Then from under the car you use a 4 foot long extension, 9/16" socket, universal (or better is a 9/16 universal socket) and lots of muscle to break them free. Support the tran on a transmission jack and slide it aft until it comes free of the engine (remember to remove the torque converter to flex plate bolts first). Once the trans is free the engine will tilt back up level.
Before tilting the engine/trans, remove the distributor or it will hit the firewall.
" (remember to remove the torque converter to flex plate bolts first). "
Then wire the convertor to the trans before moving the trans backunless you like cleaning up trans fluid when the convertor comes loose and has a dump on your floor.
