So after tuning in circles for an hour trying to figure out why there was so much black smoke/gas pedal needed on the restart. Cold or hot. I decided to put my guage on the car to have a look at the pressure. Sure as hell, the pressure was dropping after the key was shut of. a few psi/min is normal. This was far quicker. Prognosis? clogged crudded (techinical term) injectors filling the motor with gas after shutoff. It might explain the abnormal bore/guide wear on a 70k car. I figure in the interest in saving$$ Id try putting 2 bottles of techron in with 3/4 tank of 93. After burning the tank of gas thru the car,
-starts normally
-Had to lean out the car to get the proper a/f back
-took less timing
Idles WAAAAAY better. even with a stock converter, ported heads, and a Lt4 hot cam kit.
What a product. try a bottle or two every other tank. I think you'll be shocked, I was.

Sounds good but make sure the plugs werent getting fouled.Sometimes those cleaners may help to unfoul the sparkplugs that have become crudded with gas and oil deposits. If the car acts up again, check the plugs. If your fuel pressure has been dropping,an injector may be leaking or it may be the check valve is leaking gas back to the tank too fast.
