I am in the (lengthy) process of gathering my thoughts and information about PROM tuning and trying to put it all down in some kind of logical sequence for beginners and semi-accomplished individuals.
Does anyone here want to contribute to this (massive) project? I will provide my rough draft and updates to it as I work on it.
If there were a chat room here it'd make collaboration easier, or if you wanted to use an IM client.
Let me know if any want to contribute.
Well my tuning knowledge could be written on your hand so I dont believe I have anything to offer, but I sure would be interested in your book. It amazes me how there is so much interest in this and yet there has not been a book on the subject that directly speaks to the tuning procedure.
KISS . Have one of us idiots read it first, see if it"s @ our level. TERMINOLOGY IS THE KILLER. You people who grew up with it think it"s commonly understood & used words, it"s french to me & others.
Thank You. Warren.

Reason: correct spelling
So far it isn't going to be a real "book". just a fairly large document and it will be free. If in the future it grows too large to post on the net I'll consider getting it published. But for now it is just something that I hope will answer a lot of questions and help people get into burning their own chips.
I am by no means an expert at tuning, I don't make my living (in any part) doing chip burning or the like. What I do have is 20 years hands on experiance working on tuned port injection and a few years doing my own tuning.

The terminology is where it starts, givng defintions to the more commonly used terms.
Morley,
This sounds a great idea, I would welcome a guide of this sort. I wish you the best of luck in this 'project' and would like to say thankyou for even considering this for us electronically challenged people.
Dave
I would really like to do it as sort to qualify/quantify just what I do for a living to family members etc.. in other words.. shine some light in what I do .
I think the basics for a good write up should include Microsoft Excel basics, EFI and Scan tool termonology and a good easy learning curve to get the people going.
A "how to re-arc spark curves" would an important lesson.
I think this is something the DIY crowd has needed for a long time. I dont' know if I just wasn't reading hard enough for what but I think its safe to say I have not learned one thing from the other forum dedicated to tuning other than where to purchase equipment. I'm not trying to discredit them or anything, I just didn't find it helpful.
