Brake lite problem "84" ,Help

Brake lite problem "84" ,Help
Looking for help. My 84 vette failed inspection due to the brake lites working sporadically. I checked the the switches at the top of the brake pedal I see the cruse control release sw. I think one is the brake lite sw. where can I get a new switch ? I checked a few the Vette catalogs and I can't find the Switch..... Any Ideas where else to check? Thanks.....

It has been my experience that a switch like that usually, just fails. If you have intermittent operation, I'd be looking for a loose connection or a wire with frayed insulation. It probably isn't too expensive, but why replace a perfectly good switch, and STILL have to trouble shoot the cause. Check it before you commit to replacing it.

I just replaced mine because of a intermittant problem like he described. I readjusted switch a couple of times but switch would still cause brake lights to go off and on when i hit a bad bump. I just replaced switch and problem went away. I guess i was just lucky, probably should have troubleshot some more.
