Beware, there are a lot of images.
It is by no means complete, this is just the introduction so far. I'll post to this forum as updates happen.
Let me know what you think (I'm not a web designer and it is a rough work in progress)
Had to switch web host, comcast was being too tempermental.
Comcast seems to be back up and running http://home.comcast.net/~khiester200035/index.html
It would probally be alot simpler to do a introduction to tuning using a standard software. From there the user/reader can figure out what program does best for him.
Maybe a important thought to include would be the simple one of
(actual/desired)-1 = % change to get to ideal.
I can't tell you how many cases that simple little formula applies to..
Anthor important theroy might be to pick a permeter to tune from.. weather its BLM, some BLM + INT combination, o2 values, WB input, etc and look at it vs. how your computer decides fueling.. for instance MAP vs. RPM for speed density and say Gm/Sec for MAF?
I think theroy/practice is more important than just giving answers away for the simple reason that it stimulates thought and new ideas.
Again I'll say that a brief overview of how excel works would be really helpful for these guys also.. I can probally say that I owe my tuning life to excel. Include meanings + examples of IF, COUNT, SUM, SUMPRODUCT, AVG, etc.

When I get to the actual changing of parameters and how to figure what to change I'll be using just one program. I wanted to start things off giving people an idea of what was avialable, prices, and versitility of the software & hardware.
Excel will be in the items covered, once I move on to data logging and reading the results of the log. I was just opening up with software specific to tuning...software people probably aren't familiar with (hopefully most have at least played with excel).

Looking forward to seeing it when it is up. Sounds promising.

Maybe it was just that you or the ISP had the pages cached. In
this case, changes won't display until the cache is updated. You
can force an update by browsing to your site and then pressing
[Ctrl] + [F5].
Is there anything you needed to tweak for the pages before
reloading them? Like rename index.htm or change the extentions
from .htm to .html?

Well I printed the pages you have so far, it was 28 pages in landscape mode. Very interesting reading. One thing I would like to suggest if I may, Craig Moates makes a chip reader and burner called the burn1. I think it was about $80.00 and what is nice about it, is it uses power from the usb port and no other power source.
Kinda like reading a continued story. Waiting for the next chapter.
I too will be following this closely. One suggestion though, when you put in the screenshots use ALT + Print Screen and you will only get the active window when you paste.

Thanks, Like I said, this is a rough draft so far. I forgot to crop the first couple of screen shots, I was playing with different software and methods of capturing screen shots.
Thanks for posting this. now ill be up all nite reading it. This looks exactly like the info im looking for as an introduction to this area. Looks like a lot of work went into this...
