Default 88 4+3 OD question

Recent problem has developed with 88 4+3 OD. Shifter switch for OD works fine; on or off on command. Problem is when shifting from 1st to 2nd at end of shift I end up in OD 70% of the time. If it doesn't drop into OD on that shift it most certainly will on the 2nd to 3rd shift. I can push OD button to immediately get out of OD. I have noticed if I shift very rapidly, therefore keeping the RPM's from dropping, it will not go into OD as often.
Any suggestions? Is it a ECO problem?

Dan

Nope, its an OD switch problem. The OD switch has its own built in return spring pushing up on its button and it isn't very strong. Moving the shifter from gear to gear causes some force on the OD rod and it actuates the OD switch inadvertantly. One solution is to install a small helper spring between the switch and the rod. Just take the shifter apart and you will see where to put a helper spring. I have the same problem.
