Default Early or Late

Hi again:
While looking up " stuff " on the internet for my 93 Coupe I have run into some items that are listed as early or late 93. My car was made in Jan of 93. I have asked corvette central, mid-america, ecklers, and several others. Answers range from we don't know to it could be either, basicly no help, so I now asking the folks who really know, you guys! Anyone got a clue?
Thanks: Carl

Nope! but I'll give you a guesstimate. Usual plant shutdown for Bowling Green used to be early to mid August. Last time I heard anything about it, it lasted for at least two weeks. If that's correct, then your car was made at least in the first half of the model year, but close to/toward the middle!

Look at the styrofoam-type stuff inside the back bumper. If it's white, it a late model. Late model also had a one-sided grooved serpentine belt vs. the two-sided grooves on the earlier models.

"Late" and "early" are usually relative terms when it come to Corvettes and can be part specific. Corvettes, like most cars, changed or substituted parts during the production run and all changes were not done at once.

Your 93 (and mine as well) was one of 21,590 cars built that year. Part "A" might have changed at car #6,000 while part "B" changed at car #12,000. So part "A" on car #9000 would be designated late while part "B would be early. The VIN is not always an indication.

Thaks guys, that helps. I have a two sided belt and brown foam in the bumper. Also I just bought a new idle air control valve and had to get one for a 92 to fit my plug, (square four). So I am going with an early unless the parts don't fit.
