Help: Need to install new sensors - thread lock/ teflon?
Hey guys,
I am in the process of rebuilding the motor. I have plans to install all the new sensors tonight, before installing block in car.. What are your guys recommendations for sealing the sensors off in the block?
I will be installing the radiator fan temp sensor, oil temp sensor, knock sensor ect..
Thread lock or Teflon tape? What works best - and what is recommended.
Thanks!!

Everything you mentioned has pipe threads. Also, all of those sensors have to be grounded to work properly. Pipe threads are tapered and a thread locker is absolutely not needed. I would stay away from Teflon tape for fear of insulating the sensor. Teflon paste would be my sealant of choice.

They do not have any kind of thread sealant on them.. Does pipe threads mean I do not have to use anything on them? The ones I removed from the block show absolutely no signs or reminance of any kind of seal...
