I need new tires on my 96 Vette. What tire would you recommend and why? All info will help, and would like to spend under $300 a tire if possible. P.S. I'm not really into speed as I am into handling tight corners.
A lot of guys on here, myself included, vouch for Goodyear F1 GS-D3's. Kuhmo Ecsta's are a great low priced set tho. I've heard that you should stay away from Michelins, but i have no gripes there never having owned a set. hope my .02 helps.

I'll vouch for the Goodyear Eagle F1GS-D3's. Awsome tire. Execellent handeling & traction, and great on wet roads. Discount Tire gave me a super deal here in Indpls. Good Luck.
I put a set of Kuhmo Ecstas on my 91 last fall and so far they're great (but I don't flog my cars any more). They're excellent in the rain and can take corners better than the car's suspension. I don't know how they wear yet. Tire Rack drop shipped to a local shop: Total including installation, balancing, etc. was $660 for 4.
I've been happy with the GY Eagle HP Ultra Plus also. I do think I'm going to try the GS D3s this time though just because I've read so many positive comments about them. It's about the same price for either one through TireRack.
