OK....solves that one. Still like the Doritos better.

Your profile says you have an 85, but since you gave the link for TBI, I'm assuming you're asking about an 84. Save your money and port the intake. You will like the result much better. Do a search on Crossfire intake porting.

Also, check out the crossfire injection vault.

http://www.crossfire.webhop.net/

Chip tuning will help once you've done some other mods to make it breathe a little better.

Wrong assumption! I gave the link to tbi because they do work with most of the 1985+ GM computers.

It would reason that if you had a TPI car you would have used this link instead.

Default TBI chip

I purchased a TBI chip for my 85 L98. I think its great. they are one of if not the only one that can sell you a new chip for an 85 that I could find. Everyone does 86's up but no one does new chips for 85's.
Gave him a list of mods and he even raised the idle speed for me.
the stock 550 rpm in drive is STUPID. The stage 2 chip definately has more timing etc. Now THECAR runs much better. I know a dyno tune would be better but where am I going to find someone to dyno tune an 85, especially in the boston area.
Acording to my G-Tech I picked up about a tenth in the 1/8. My car originally had a Hypertech chip in it when I bought it, don't get one of them they're junk. Well we'll see how good it is when I get to the track someday.

a tenth in the 1/8th isn't a bad gain for the price especially if thats a tenth better than the car with the hypertech chip in it before.

I BOUGHT A TBI CHIP FOR MY 85 AND I WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE THROTTLE RESPONCE, COOLING FAN ON OFF SETTINGS, EGR SETTINGS, AND AGRESSIVE FUEL CURVE.
ITS CURRENTLY OUT OF THE CAR IF YOU WANT, ILL SELL IT TO YOU FOR $54.00 SHIPPED. WHICH IS HALF OF WHAT I PAID. MY 85 IS NOW MORE A SHOW CAR THEN HOT ROD. MY 87 IS THE HOT ROD. THIS CHIP IS ONLY FOR AN 1985 AUTOMATIC SO IF YOURS IS MANUAL, YOUR OUTTA LUCK.

Who said anything about someone in TBI CHIPS selling used chips?
Who exactly are you referring to? Those RP---A chips in bulk cost less then $5.00 and takes seconds to load? Differance between new and used anyway, NONE. The chip either works, or it dont work, new or used 1 day 1 week 1 month 1 decade ETC.
Just to clear that up. Talk about profit. But on the other hand, the price is very resonable considering that some company that specializes in tuned port, sells chips made the same way between $200-$500 which is JUST NOT RIGHT!
