I had one on my '02 before I sold it. Instructions were clear and it installed fairly easily. I didn't put all that many miles on it so I didn't have any problems with it but a lot of people here say that it cracks and warps with time.
I purchased the Vortex Ram Air for my LT1 vette, so the intake plenum is different, but I do not recommend their system. Build quality is very weak, I had it on my car for all of 2 weeks, before I removed it and put the factory system back on. I did not see any performance gain, and to be honest I noticed better of idle response with the stock air box. The intake plenum was made with very thin plastic that underhood heat warped, and the Vortex Ram Air would not even fit after a couple of weeks.
I have one on my '93. Good concept but very, very cheap materials. The box will warp in a few months and it's a pain to remove and clean the filter. I sunk a couple of extra screws in mine to help with the warpage. I am seriously considering going back to my cut lid with the K&N. I give it two thumbs down.
Did you notice an increase in power ? The look is alot better , especially the clear one . Just wondering if anyone likes or dislikes , and how long they last , before warping or cracking ? Can't see replacing it every couple years for that price unless the benefits are great .
It is cheap made. But I have had no problems. I have no problem cleaning Filter. I put a metal strap around the filter housing and about 6 extra screws and have had it for three years. They could have made them better for the price but I would still buy another one. Just My O2
