Have a strange problem, maybe someone can help me out here. I set my base timing to 6 degrees as per factory specs, unplugging the brown wire when I do it.
Then when I hook the wire back up again, the timing is sitting around 18 degrees at idle. If I rev up the motor a bit, it ends up going way past the degree wheel marking.
From what I can see, this is way too much advance. What controls the advance, the ecm or that little box, think it is called spark control module, or something like that.
