Hey guys!! Some of you know that I've been in the process of rebuilding the motor in my 84... That is all done, and motor is back in car. I fired it up for the first time today.. Fired right up, no hesitation what so ever.. I am however getting a Check Engine light. In the past, I have jumpered the A and B terminals to get a reading.. For some reason or another, that is not working now. Does anyone know why this would not work now? And can anyone suggest another way for me to get a reading?

You have something hooked up incorrectly, or not hooked up at all. If it won't flash the codes, I doubt a scanner will work, but you could give it a try.
I don't understand THAT. I think it was the MAP you had disconnected. I have received the MAP code when it was inadvertently left disconnected. I think you still have a problem. Something more basic to the ECM operation. It didn't give you a code before and it still doesn't. The only difference is that you cured the cause without the aid of the code. Did you clear the codes? You might want to disconnect your EST wire as if you were checking the timing. Then see if you get the light, and if you do, see if you get the proper code, too.
