could be a kill switch, try to start it w.switch in ea. position
could be a brake light switch, to turn brake light off while foot is on the brake................I don't know but that's what I would guess
I had a little switch in my 87 when I bought it. It was for an aftermarket security system, namely to switch off the ultrasonic sensors installed inside the car. The car is a vert, so whenever the top moved or the wind blew, the alarm would sound. However, it was OK in a garage, with no movement. Just another thought for you.

Pull the hush panel and see where the wires go. Location is close to where I installed my manual fan switch, but could be anything. Definitely non-stock.
