Default Car trouble

I installed different plugs and gapped them than i installed them and still heard the same ticking but this time a whine sound came also. I than went to check the distributer cap and it zapped me. I looked like this What could be the problem?

Check the cap for cracks. If none are found, remove the wires one at a time and check for cracked insulation/boots. If they are ok, squirt some dialetric grease up in the boot and reinstall it.
Start the car and see what happens...don't get zapped again...that hurts!

Yes, it will cause a "clicking" sound if there is a spark jumping to ground, quite a loud one too.

Run the car in the dark and you will be able to see much easier if you are getting arching somewhere.

checked the coil for cracks found none. I also checked the boots and found nothing wrong but i did have a problem getting the plugs to click on to the spark plugs. I am using accel header spark plugs with accel 3000 wires.

i may have identified the problem the insulation on my ground wire from the coil had melted off. I will check to see if this solves the problem.

I am betting on a wide gapped plug, bad wire, disconnected wire or somethnig else simple.

nope, had my friend check it out whos a mechanic and he tells me its an exhaust leak in my header. I did fix the shocking problem i had earlier
