My 91 display (odometer, speedo etc) has quit reading correctly. Have a LT1 display that I replaced it with. It seems to go through the test pattern ok but doesnt read correctly either. Random changing digits for speedo when moving, does not show zero's at a stop.
Is the LT1 display a straight in replacement for the 91. Believe the replacement is a 92 or 94.
Thanks, for the reply. The old unit does not change the values of the display, the new unit has constantly changing data but it is not valid information. It will show 3 digits for the speed while sitting still, the gas gauge will vary showing bars some while not showing the bars between them.
Im going to try the old unit again. Try the new unit, note the differences, check all of the grounds and then maybe buy another unti from a 90 or 91.
the 92-96 LCD uses a different data stream then the 90-91.. when you first turn the key on there is a separate blanking line which is why that looks fine.
Unfortunately you need to find a LCD for a 90-91 to get the display to read properly, unless someone has hacking the CCM code to make the newer LCD panel work..
