Well i just picked up my Vortex Rammer for my 95 LT1 CA. I orderd it before i joined the forum, but after reading all the mixed reviews here i'm ready to ship it back....Ok vetters, one last chance to save or condem this product. So what will it be ????
I will tally the votes by next Tuesday 9/27/05

The product itself is a good ideal, the quality of the parts used are what come in to question. The air-box is made of poor quality materials, and have a tendency to loose shape from the underhood heat.
Calloway has a similar unit for C5/C6's, but it has better quality materials. I think I may buy one and adapt it to my C4.
Like TM96CE said it's a very good idea the Vortex Air Rammer but the plastic box that the cone filter goes in is CHEAP MATERIAL! Mine is warped out of shape and lets alot of air escape. I thought about making one up out of Aluminum.
I have had it on my car for about 4 years and nothing is wrong with it, the plastic box is pretty far away from all the heat so it barely even gets warm. I didnt think it was that bad of a product.

I just don't believe these types of products offer enough, if any, benefit for the money spent. Hell, if I didn't already have a K&N filter, I wouldn't even spend money on it again.

I agree with you, i bought it because at the time i didnt know much about mods. I think it might give me a few horses since my whole engine has been pretty heavily modified, and the car can get air a little easier.
Add me to the "no" column. I'm a firm believer that the LT1/4 can get all the air it needs (and can "suck") without effort through the factory plumbing with a K&N (or clean paper filter) and open lid. Anything more is cosmetic.
I had heard all the bad comments made, which put a bad taste in my mouth...then I actually got to see one, and completely understodd why people didn't like them. The plastic peice that connects to the airbridge completly warped...now I am in Phoenix so it may have been subjected to slightly higher temps then elsewhere. It was warped so much I could practically get my middle finger in hole that was left. I'd send it back...
Joining late... you did well in returning it. As stated before, the concept is nice, but the cheap (and I mean cheap) materials outweigh the benefits. I no longer recommend them to my customers, period.
