my mech says that my vette may have a bad ECM what are some of my options if this is true? how much for a new or used ECM? has anybody had this problem in the past? this really stinks! i need some help guys!
I guess the first question I would ask is why does your mechanic think you have a bad ECM? Very often the ECM is not the problem, it simply is not getting the data it needs to do it's job properly.
What symptoms is the car experiencing? Does it start? If it does, is it generating any trouble codes? Did your mechanic do a real-time data scan to see what the ECM is seeing?
I'm not saying it definitely isn't the ECM, I'd just like to know more about the problem before definitely saying it is.
