I've changed my 86's 16 inch wheels for AFS's GS 17" rims.
Now that there is some extra room, I would like to add bigger rotors and better calipers. Nothing to crazy, maybe someone elses take off's.
I've looked through many catalogs and have never seen an upgrade kit for an 86 WITH bigger rims. All I've seen is upgrades that fit under the 16's.
When it comes to brakes as with many other things bigger is better.
With the GS wheels you can always go with the C5 brake upgrade option. It's a pretty inexpensive option, usually costs between $500-700 for everything you need.
You can buy a kit from someone, or you can source out the parts on your own (calipers, rotors, pads...). The only non-OEM part you'll need will be the brackets, which I believe forum member Ed Salinas (SP?) has available.
