Im pretty sure the module changes the frequency at which the "sensitivity band" is. That is the "note" at which the engine will ring when an event occurs or simply if you whack it with a wrench.
you can program it to not be so agressive with the retard, but the counts will still be there.
On a 93 the spark knock module is near the widshild washer tank, it's a little box. I fyou have a spare to take apart, perhaps the "innards" would be compatible. I wonder exactly what kind of circut it is.??
I will have to do some reasearch, perhaps there is a limited market for such a device.
