I noticed today when messing with my baby that when I shut the engine off the fuel pressure goes right to 0 pds , is this normal? when its running it has 40 pds. of pressure!!

I hate to disagree with Jack, but if you shut it off and the pressure falls to 0 immediatly, somethings wrong....ie: leaking injector(s), FPR, fuel pump check valve. Times vary for rate of psi reduction but it should hold some pressure for a while. You can trouble shoot it by clamping off the fuel line(s) at the gas tank. The procedure is in your Helms.
If it drops to 0 real fast,im betting the fuel pump check valve is shot.
Its allowing gas to return back too fast after shut off.
Sometimes a bad injector(s) can cause it as well.Start by pinching the return hose line at the tank when doing a pressure test.If the pressure holds, the problem is in the pump.If it still leaks down and you did pinch it off good, then the problem will be with the fuel delivery system, injectors or FPR etc.
