It's getting to be that time, what are you guys doing over the winter? I am going to be moving at the end of the month into a house with a large detached shop/garage so I will probably have the entire drivetrain taken out before I even start unpacking! I am thinking about a few possibilities:

1) 355 with a Single rear/mid mount turbo.

2) Forged 383/396

3) LS1/T56 swap

I'm really leaning towards the LS1 to be a little different.

I am picking up my 1988 today from the shop. I had the 700R completely gone through to tolerate 500+ torque and 500 HP, plus 2400 stall converter.

Next is cat-back exhaust within the next 2-weeks. Around the end of the year I will order a Ron Davis or DeWitt radiator (from prior posts, they both look very good ) and LT headers, probabaly TPIS, to install along with new engine in the spring. Between now and then I am mainly accumulating necessary parts. I have been waffling for over a year on exactly what engine configuration , but I do know I want big inches and lots of torque (size does matter, according to my girlfriend ), and taa daaaah, California emissions clean , similar to Caboboys. In my case the Ohio Crankshaft 434 short block with the $1,600 aluminum Motown upgrade is looking very good at the moment (Total, $5,500). A D44 conversion will follow that next year

Have you found a rear mounted turbo kit for our C4's or are you going to tackle a custom project?

Recover seats and steering wheel, more porting, possibly a new motor. Can't sell it for the life of me, might as well finish it and keep it.

All I need to do is put a new driver's door outer window seal in.

Possibly some 4:10's!

Replace just about every accessory I can afford, that I havent done yet. Probably will have to change a rear bearing.
Change out some suspension pieces for VBP or RD stuff.

Do nothing and drive the car every weekend.

We in Arizona are on an opposite schedule than the rest of the country. Our cars (a roadster) are garage queens in the summer and are driven in the winter.

As long as I get the clutch engagement issue sorted out this weekend, my winter projects will be:

Paint and weld in roll bar
Re-install nitrous system
Pull front sway bar
Install 90/10s up front

I say this now, but if I don't finish up my kitchen first, I'll be in the middle of divorce proceedings this winter...

I thought about it... but I think i've decided to build everthing. I almost did it though. How hard is it to pull this off? Do the motor mounts line up, 700R bolt on?

1. Interior (maybe this fall)
2. Swap rear end ratios (3.33 or 3.45, not sure yet.)
3. Suspension Bushings

If I can round up some money, I need a pair of high flow bullet cats to fit on the end of my EM headers that are just sitting in the garage. Hopefully I'll be able to find a custom exhaust guy here in Charlotte to attach the cats to the catback out of S/S, of course. Not many guys here want to get into that kind of exhaust work. Go figure, this is NASCAR country and no exhaust guys???

My list isn't that bad, new carpet, new seat covers, replacing that damn bose system with something that works. Adding hooker headers, and the random technology dualcat system. Oh yeah, and of course saving up some money so that next April I can order the procharger. That's it,... I hope.

Drop the front end, I spent all my $$$$ last year so I can get the $40 kit from Ecklers but thats about it for this year. I may get crazy and do some more part throttle tuning but thats about it.
