hello everyone.new guy here.i have an open air lid w/k&n and a cat back exhast.i would like to put on long tubes and/or gears.which one would you do first?any recomended mods that work,i.e. pulleys, throttlebody, computer reprogram, air foil, adjustable fuel pressure?sorry for bombarding you guys.im new to this area.i'm old school and big block mopar oriented.i love driving this car!
1. Corsa exhaust...not for power, just for looks and sound. To me they gave the car the sound it should have
2. 4.10 gears, this is a GREAT upgrade! You can still cruise at 75MPH in 6th gear at around 2K RPM, but 1st-3rd is a LOT more fun!
3. Headers - this provided a nice bump in power. I bought TPIS longtubes, but if I did it again I would get Exotic Muscle headers
You won't need a throttle body until you really start to get into the engine, such as heads and cam. You can put an adjustable FP regulator on at almost anytime if you like. And you won't need much of a reprogram again until you get into the engine...the stock LT4 program is really good. The only things you might consider for reprogramming are fan temps, speedo calibration if you change gears, etc...
You can ck my sig....aside from long tubes which I highly recommend ( not just for performance gains but also sound note of exhaust, easy of maintenance work, and just overall looks) I've done almost all of the bolt ons I can. Next on the list aside from the LTs is a A Flywheel and stage 2 clutch. I had 4:10s but sold them. (Primarily because of my next mod). After that the car will be ready for the 100 shot of N2O. That will be the end of the mods on this car. I appreciate all the work that went into the LT4 by the General and I don't want to go too deep into it and compromise the reliability of the motor. But to each his own i suppose..have fun
Need Knowledge...
Do the aluminum flywheel makes noise? Or I misunderstood?
Yep, single-mass flywheels have a "can of racks" sound to them at idle. Some are worse than others, I've had SM aluminum flywheels for a few years so I don't even notice it anymore
First I would set a goal and make a plan how fast how street friendly how much $. I made my goal 400hp here is what it took 1 LT4 vette, 1 Corsa cat back, 1 set of TPIS headers, 1 LT4 Hot Cam, 1 adjustable fuel pressure regulator, and a opened air box and a K&N. Top it off with a LT1 edit dyno tune and this will put you over 400 hp. At the fly wheel. This is a fiesty little combo and it runs great. Oh I do have a set of 410 gears sitting in the basement waiting to drop in Figure out what you want and find a builder. Check check this out www.grandsportregistry.com and go to the dyno page thay list most of the motor combos and show dyno pages gives you a view where these motor combos are making power might give a point to start at

With the right mods you can make an LT4 fly.. look at the # I run with my LT1 & the heads have never been off the car.. it still has the STOCK exhaust & cats... I did remove the mufflers.. 1.6 RR & 160 thermostat.. and Hypertech program to correct the speedo & turn the fans on sooner..
I've never had it on a dyno... because IMO you have to run the # consistent to win.. my car is set up to run the 1/4 and be CONSISTENT.. I really don't care how much or how little HP my car makes all the counts is how it runs..
