Friend blew fuel pump fuse couple weeks ago. Now same problem...won't start, but now fuse OK. Do we need new fuel pump? Where is fuel pump? Any have place for "how to" instructions for testing, replacing, etc?
I searched "replace fuel pump" in C4 tech with no success.
Thanks in advance
Fuel pumps are easy... but I think there may be more then one fuse.
The easiest test is to have someone turn on the car (no start) and you stand at the gas cap. Put your hand on the cap, turn on the key and feel for it. If you feel nothing, there is something wrong.
The fuel pump is inside the tank and is accessable via the gas cover.

Next step might be to hook up a pressure gauge, see if you have ~45 psi at the shrader valve...
Changing the fuel pump and pickup screen has to be one of the easiest R&R projects on a C4.
If the pump is not priming the fuel rail just buy a new pump and pickup screen from an AC Delco distributor and install them:
-remove the fuel door and rubber boot around the filler tube
-remove the clamps from the three fuel hoses
-open the connector to the left of the opening
-remove the ring of screws holding the pump mounting flange, using care to not lose any of the O-rings around each
-work the flange free and carefully lift the pump and level sensor out
-replace the pumpe and install the new pick up screen onto the bottom of the new pump, using care to not bend the level sensor mounting wire
-reverse the above order and you are done
