ABS error code 61: Dlr says pump is dead
This part is not available through chevy any more. I found plenty to choose from at car-parts.com. They are going from $100 to $300 The origional list was $1200+ (for new) Any suggestions.....Im into this project $400 so far and no end in sight. The error code is 61.
The dealer may install a pump provided by you. If not, you should be able to find a mechanic that can switch them out, bleed the brakes, clear the code, etc.
Personally, I like the ABS brakes but they are essentially an option on new cars these days.
Good luck with this repair.

Years ago, a so called mechanic worked on my vette... I got it back and the ABS was shorted out. I then went to a very respected mechanic that worked at a dealership to find out what had happened and what my options were. The parts were going to be very expensive... he gave me a bit of inexpensive advise - he simply unplugged the unit, I tipped him $20.00 and I've been trouble free ever since. If you really want to get everything working, I agree with the other guys... check out the auctions, I've found a lot of great deals. Good luck with your project.
