I didnt notice that you had a ruby red 93... I dont know of the availability of that with a glass back window... Call ecklers and ask.... wouldnt hurt to try mid-america and corvette central as well...
Edit: I just looked on Mid America and the ruby read goes for $699.00 with the plastic window...thats more then $340 then you can get a black or other color with a plastic window...

They make a kit so that C4's convertibles of all years (that have aftermarket replacement tops with glass windows) can add the defoggers ($239.99 from ecklers catalog)... Thats nothing new the problem here is that this gentlemen has a 93 ruby red convertible and I havent been able to find a replacement rubyred convertible top with anything other then plastic back window... anyone know where to find a ruby red cloth top with a glass window for him?

That is not true. You have buy adapter kit in order to use the glass window. You can get the glass adapter kit from GM dealers.

I did this conversion. It's no biggie and the kit GM sells you is WAY overpriced so check it out online then buy it from your dealer. DO NOT pay retail price. I think you can get the kit for 120 bux online. It has about $10 worth of crap in it.

Yes, it IS true. Like I said, RUBY tops, whether they be aftermarket or an NOS piece, are NOT made with a glass rear window. I stand by this statement 150%. Get your facts straight before you claim someone is posting false information. What you are speaking of is an adaptation kit to fit a different color top ('94 - '96 top with the standard glass rear window) onto a 40th Anniversary Ruby Red car. These cars came with a Ruby Red cloth top, not some other color. If he wants a ruby cloth top, then he IS stuck with the plastic rear window. Get it right.

Have it your way. F.ck the factory ruby crap. Get the damn glass window alway a alternative. Don't tell me get my fact straight. You should get your *** straight. This has been done long a go. For the stuborn *** people like you. YOU CAN never get the glass window. Certain not from your ruby factory.
ps. Oh by the way the adapter kit is from GM. And GM use this adapter for the 94+ model yrs. Not a aftermarket adpater kit.

hey guys, I appreciate the responses and I hope I didn't make any enemys out of this ordeal. It's just I will be replacing the factory ragtop with a new one...Probably the stayfast cloth but will the gm glass window adapter kit work with the aftermarket top?
