Me and my buddy have spent the last three hours trying to do my C5 brake conversion.........the adapter brackets DO NOT fit!!!!!!!! Does anyone have any pictures of how the adapter bracket is supposed to fit and what theirs looks like? Im pretty sure that the adapter brackets that I ordered are just the wrong design....

They should not be the same, side for side. There is definitely a right and a left. If these are not entirely the wrong adapters, at least one of them should fit, though. It sounds like someone at your supplier end screwed up, majorly. My brackets were a piece of cake but I didn't get them from these folks.

Were there any instructions?
Have you tried mounting them behind.... (Just wondering)

See pic above. They are identical. We have tried mounting them from behind and it only makes caliper another half inch off. I am SOOOOO freakin pissed off. Also, the ***** didnt include friggin DIRECTIONS!!!!! WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!

Did you just get the adapters or the entire kit?

This pic from their site is small but the brackets appear
to have the general shape. I wondered whether it was
possible that the vendor accidently sent brackets for
another application, but since Car-Vette's site seems
to be exclusively for 'Vettes, this doesn't appear to be
likely.

Can you post pics of your actual brackets? Maybe
of them in approximate position?

.

The adapter that you have are for the early model Corvettes 84 to 86 or 87. The later models use the curve shape adapters, like the orange one shown.

From the looks of things, you have a set of 84-87 to c5 adapter brackets that you are trying to install on your 88. You need the later model brackets. Either you ordered the wrong brackets or car-vette shipped you the wrong ones. Call Shawn up and have them ship you the right brackets and they should go right on. John Boos does all the shop work and Shawn Hanna handles all the ordering of mail order stuff.

Otherwise, you could just order them from Rich at upfronttechnologies.com. He stocks them as well, although not listed on the website for some reason lately.

I almost forgot, there is a certain nice guy by the name of ed on the forum you might seek out for these as well. If you look through this thread, you might even see his id listed. edsalinas. Sorry ed, it was late.
