Great New Radiator!!!!
My car would normally idle around 190 degrees, normal driving it would run around 200-210, and running hard or sitting in traffic 220 - 230 (I'd start getting nervous at 230).
OK, I know our C4s are supposed to run hot and I know the optimum temps for running nitrous is about 180 degrees. So I ordered a new RON DAVIS RACING RADIATOR. (Arizona)
With my car running nitrous - only reaches the 400+ horsepower range, this radiator is rated at 800 horsepower - compared to Be Cool, which I think is only rated at 400 HP.
I've got nothing other than nice things to say about the customer service I received and the radiator arrived when promised. The radiator is a piece or "art" and it's a shame I have to hide it inside my factory black plastic shroud. It was a direct replacement with no modifications and I installed it in my garage with simple hand tools.
OK, here are the preliminary reults.....
The day was sunny and about 91 degrees (South Florida)
Idled @ 169 degrees sitting in driveway
drove around town and even "horsed around" in low gears
and sat in traffic...
189 degrees was the hottest it got! I averaged about 179 with normal driving.
This seems to be money well spent! I can't wait to get to the track!
