I will my swapping the 700r4 in a couple of weeks and I might as well replace the U joints in the drive shaft while I have it apart. I am looking for something strong that will handle the 383 and take some abuse at the strip.
Go with Spicer. If you can't find them in San Jose, try DRIVE LINE SERVICE of SAN LEANDRO. Phone (510) 352-3500. They are located at 2474 Teagarden Street, San Leandro.
I was talking to a parts house yesterday and the sales guy mentioned Spicer changed the design from a rubber seal to a hard plastic seal and if you are not careful during the install they can break and if that happens you just throw the U joint away and get a new one. Is this correct - not the part about throwing it away but the change from a rubber seal to a hard plastic seal. The sales guy then tried to sell me a set that are cryo'd but a different mfgr.. but now I can't find the piece of paper with the mfgr name......
