I just had a lot of front end work done to my 94 after the brakes failed around a turn and it went into the ditch. I just got it back last week and noticed that on the passenger side the wheel just barely sticks out from under the hood but on the driver's side, it is inset in the fender well an inch. I brought it back to the Chevy dealer that I had the work done at, and he seemed surprised because the alignment was perfect and he said the frame was measured correctly. Anyway, he took the car back and realigned it. I just herd back from him and he said his alignment guy said the car wouldn't align if the frame was out. Also, he said that he had another C4 vette there and he said it was the same way. So he's at a loss. Any Ideas???

Measure the distance of the sides of the hood from the frame. I would not be surprised if the hood is a little offset!
If they put this up on a newer frame rack, you should have gotten a before and after report like you get at TireDisounters when they do an alignment. Maybe spend $75 and get a good frame shop to just spot check the frame for you.

For what its worth my car has never been in an accident and the drives side tire sticks out about 1/2 inch further than the passanger. I didnt notice it until I put the 11's on, but now you can really see it. Others have told me that it typical.
good to know, my 1986 is the same way, tire offset in side the fender wells is a little different. but when i noticed it i was worried because the guy i got mine from hit a curb pretty bad, put seroius dent in a rim and gouge in tire, which is in the back yard now for a just incase. so it nothing to really worry about?
