I have made the switch from a Dana 36 to a Dana 44, now I have broken the spiders in that. I have found out that a Corvette Dana 44 is not the same as a typical Dana 44. What spool or mini spool are available?

There is no spool readily available for the Dana 44 IRS... I've been modifying existing D44 spools to work in it though. However, if you're driving your car a lot on the street I would suggest an upgraded and cryo-treated posi-unit.

what upgrade would you recommend for the posi unit?
I have found the best combo is a stock GM (Spicer) posi that has been Cryo treated. Hardened spiders are a bomb looking for a place to explode.
As Ralph said, we've been cryo-treating them with no breakages thus far (I believe). Ralph had a set of the supposedly killer re-heat treated ones and they broke; I cryoed a set of stock Spicer ones for him and he hasn't broken them yet. The entire unit should be treated, that's the clutch packs, spiders, shims, cross-pin, and carrier case itself.
