Replaced mine almost a year ago (noisy also). The ECM won't care (no codes). However, before a smog test you'll need to make sure the engine is up to temp. Also, if you live in an area that requires a visual inspection as part of the inspection process (like Cal.), it won't pass.

That's why I just gutted mine and got rid of the noise. Still pases visual cause the mod is internal. Plus I can't justify the high cost of these brakets anyway.
It will add 0 HP
The parasitic drag of the smog pump, provided it is functioning properly, is almost 0 as well.
The pump weighs very little so you will not achieve any significant weight loss by removing it.
The only significant advantages to removing the smog pump would be to remove the clutter of the air pump in the engine bay and to eliminate a pump that is not operating properly.
