Aarrgghh
There, I feel better...I have a little problem with my 87. "Occasionaly", I lose the blinkers. Sometimes, it the right directional; sometimes the left. Also, when I depress the brake pedal, I do get the "cyclops" light, but none of the other 4 lights works. I still have rear lights, just no break lights.
The amps will go from 14 most of the time, down to 11.2 (and a couple of times, during a terential downpour last week, to 9.8! THAT was a little dicey. I had to pull over, all the time revving and breaking and downshifting, with no wipers!
)Alternator? If it is that, how much of a pain to replace? It's getting almost time to put "ger" up for the winter, so should I wait?
Thanks
Bob
Get a good high amp one designed for Corvettes. Buy a cheap one and you will be doing this again very soon.
My wheels are an 87, so it's not the "new" C 4's. I have another question, off topic though...
There is a 88 Red coupe down the road from me for sale. The guy bought it for his daughter, who let her boy friends beat the hell out of it. It still looks good, has 100k on it, is an automatic (mine is the 4+3 manual) and has good rubber. He's asking 5k for it, but I think he'll take 4. My question is this; would it be a good idea to buy it for a parts car or to restore at a later date?
I also have my eye on a 67 big block roadster in marlboro maroon with black interior. The knock off's are there, the side exhaust, etc. This is what it SHOULD look like...
I can get this 427 (complete... with about 2 dozen boxes of parts that is!) for 9,000. I'm think about another 40k to bring it back to showroom.
