Forgive me if this is often asked, but what are typical head cfm flow numbers for stock LT1 & LT4 heads, sans polishing, i.e., out of the box (assuming the same lift, e.g., .5 or .6)??
Thanks in advance. Great board!!

Reason: fix typo
It looks to me like the mighty LS1 heads with a stg 3 port job were out-flowed by the LT4's with the same.
I find those numbers a little suspect to be honest, but beyond that the major advantage of the LS head is how the air is brought to the combustion chamber. In the GEN1 SBC heads there is a large bend in the intake tract to vacilitate the valve stem. In the LS heads it is a completely straight shot, which makes the airflow much more efficient, which is why the LS1/2/6 can make insane HP/TQ numbers with a simple heads/cam swap. There are LS2 heads and cam engines out now that make close to 500RWHP, that number is barely attainable on some of the best put together radical cammed L98/LTx 383/396+ stroker motors.
