Code 15? Coolant temp low?

Which temp sensor did you replace? The one on the waterpump or the one on the right head?

The waterpump sensor feeds the ECM and the digital display. The head sensor feeds only the analog gauge.

Check to be sure that the harness to the waterpump temp sensor is ok. It can get caught in the belt and become cut up and stuff.

15 definately will cause these problems>> I'm thinking you have a short in your electrical connector. I would reccomend getting a service manual and run thew the diagnostic flow charts.

Had the same problem and replaced the sensor in the waterpump, and that still didn't do it. Turned out it was the pigtail connector itself that needed replacing.

Is that reading of 5 volts what you are getting at the harness with the sensor plugged in or unplugged?

You should not have 5 volts with the sensor plugged in.
If you do have 5 volts with the sensor plugged in, either the sensor is open or the connector isn't making contact.

Then, my guess is you have a damaged connector and it isn't making contact with the sensor or the sensor is defective.

The way to test it is to check the voltage with the sensor plugged in -- it should be less than 5 volts.

I would have expected it to be lower than even 4.87 volts.

If you just turn the key on without the engine running, what is the temperature showing on your digital engine coolant temperature readout?
And, does it seem like it is the correct temperature?
