Mobil 1 question
Is there a difference between the Mobil 1 synthetic 15w50 and the new 15,000 mile Mobil 1 synthetic 15w50, or is it just the marketing approach?

The 15K stuff is the real supersyn, the other is not completely synthetic.

That appears to be false according to the mobil1 website.

5000-conventional
7500-blend
15000-full synthetic, with extra supersyn added compared to the synthetic they used to sell
If he was talking about the 5K or 7500 stuff, its not syn. The older stuff is synthetic but not with the extra supersyn that the 15K stuff has. The older synthetic is much harder to find and has almost entirely been replaced by the 15K stuff on shelves. I havent seen it the last 2x I changed my oil. That older M1 is no longer offered new as 15w50 if you read the site anyway. The only thing I see there as 15w is the 15K stuff.
I apologize if I dont understand what he's referring to.

Man, that's a great deal on Mobil 1! I don't have a Big Lots nearby, so I pay the price.
