Jacking

I am starting my heads and cam swap and was wondering if I can jack on the front cross member instead of doing a side at a time.

I put a foot long block of wood between the jack and crossmember to spread out the load.

I use a 2"x4" C or channel beam 30" long with two fat bottle jacks on my KwikLift bridge. Nice and stury, but I still use a jack stand for safety. One more thing, I put two heavy pieces of rubber at each end of the C beam so I don't scratch the cross member.
