Where can I get a set of the skid plates for the front of my 89? I went to replace the air dam with a Big Mouth Air Dam and the two skid bars on the sides of the air dam are so bent up I am going to have to replace them. Looks like the former owner tried to catch air a few times and failed.
If you mean the two vertical rub bars below the bumper on either
side of the bottom inlet for the rad, you might check Mid America's
site or catalog.
Sorry I can't offer more specific help on the OEM replacements. I
actually posted to mention that I have seen aftermarket units that
have some kind of a roller in them.
The idea behind the aftermarket units is that the roller intercepts
the obstacles lifting the front and rolling over them, hopefully giving
you enough notice for you to stop before the obstacle meets the
body parts further back.
You might want to keep an eye open for these if they sound interesting.

I believe you are talking about the two "U" channels that hold the bumber out from the frame (underneath)
Why the call them "skid plates" I'll never know I got into a skid and the left side skid plate caught the dirt on the side of the road and tore up the whole bumper
