Default 1st time at the track

my runs were bad but i can't believe i waited until i was 35 to race. i loved it and i can't wait til next spring!!!!! i have a 91 auto with a 383 and 2400 stall. the down side i have stock dana 36 with 2.59 gears. i couldn't get the tires to stop spinning.
r/t .513
60' 2.203
1/8 8.401
mph 89.69
1/4 12.897
mph 111.91

i was also getting a hesitation after i hit about 90 mph.
i know i need different gears, and more time behind the wheel but what else can i do to help my time???

That 60' is killing your ET. Put some sticky tires on it and you will see mid 12s easy. Sounds like you are hooked . Ive been drag racing on and off most of my life. I just cant get it out of my system.

Gears and sticky tires will definately get you on your way...a word of caution...if you slap stickies out back, you can destroy your Dana 36 in no time with the power you are making...only takes one good hook...the tire spin you had is what saved your diff...

The safer way to go is to swap in a Dana 44 diff with 3:45 or 3:73 gears...then put on the stickies and hang on...lol

I would not change gears with the TPI intake on the car, which you havent said whether you still have. The best choice in that scenario would be a 3.07 gearset in a D44.

For now, I think you just need practice to get the 60' time down.

Nice r/t! And yeah, ski, I wouldn't recommend drag racing with no pants.

But I think this car will 60' a lil better than 1.8...I'm thinking LOW 12's with a good launch.

88blackz-51 my mods are sr/383 with 1 3/4 headers, hiflow cat and corsa catback. my dyno numbers are 367hp at 4900rpm and 427tq all at the wheel. but i am running rich so if i can get some of the fuel out i may do better. i am going to look into finding a dana44 with 3.07 because the vette is still a daily driver. if i can get that i sould be on my way
