Gm recommends a special kent moore tool that works perfectly. Most people do not use it because they are not easy to get. The sensor is never torqed on tight. A crescent wrench works perfectly.

If you have not bypassed the heater hoses running to and from the throttle body and choose not to take it off the car, you will need a thin wall 32mm socket. Preferably NOT a deepwell because of the lack of room down there. Good luck.

If you don't want to remove the TB so you can use an adjustable wrench - then get a set of needle nose vise grips. Just make sure they are a decent size. Clamp onto and turn. It is not very tight and should be able to loosen it this way. At least I was able to.
