Default Power door locks?

When I lock the car via the switch, both the passenger and driver door locks won't fully close or open. It seems that the manual slide for locking is binding.
Question is this just a case of the slide needing to be lubricated or is my power locks going south?

that is odd...

There could be binding, but why both?

The best way to test for binding is to remove the plastic slide. It pops right off.

Randy, there are two rods, one for the lock slider. It feeds thru a plastic U clip. There is one for each rod that mounts on the accessory mounting plate. I think I have a picture for you.

Depends on whether its the passenger, driver or both, but you'll need to remove the window switch, the door handle assembly, then remove the door panel. Once removed, then carefully pop out the wire harnesses push fasteners and carefully peel the sound deadener off. Behind that is the large aluminum accessory plate. You'll see the two circular plastic U clips. Check to ensure they are intact not broke, and move the rod to ensure nothing is binding.

Here's one showing the two rods, the accessory panel is removed. Let me look for another better one with the accessory still installed and upload it.

Here's the best I have, but it shows the accessory panel and sound panel out of the door. I circled where the two clips go.

Hope this helps.

Just so your not confused those pictures are of different doors. Accessory panel picture is the driver's side and door picture is passenger side.

Also monitor the area where the rods turn 45 degrees upwards and pass thru a lever mechanism. You'll see all this once you have the panel removed. Look at the rear section for a wire harness to ensure it is not touching the rod. I had that harness get in the way one assembly time and had to open it back up to push it well out of the way.

If you need more of the step by step and where to find all the 7mm bolts let me know. I've pulled mine a couple times now for different repairs.
