When you replaced the switch did you check the wiring to see if you had a broken wire in the door area. I will check my manuals and see if there are two seperate relays for lock/unlock and get back to you.

there is a relay that controls both lock/unlock behind the center console information center. Now this is one relay that does both functions, it could be the unlock portion of this relay is carbon coated and not making very good contact but you said you hear the lock/unlock motors working in the doors so it may just be they are dragging enough in the unlock position to not operate properly.
