About anything will do. I use white grease mainly because I always have it and it wipes off my fingers easier than oil.

Thanks guys. One additional question. I am using aftermaket injectors Delphi 37 lbs injectors and the stock clips to hold the injectors to the rails are not working. Do you guys use the clips or not? If the clips are added the injector harness will not install and the injector will not seat correctly. Is there a issue if the clips are not installed?

the clip are universal should fit with no problem. On my 93vette. I have used 30s, 50, and 96s injector. No problem with clip, fit fine. Actually the 96s is not being in use yet. Still waiting for my DFI Gen 7 to control the big injector

on the clips, I tried to install my pink top injectors and the layout of the injector didnt accomodate the clip or the correct positioning of the injector, I was told using the clips didn't matter, so I left them off. No problems.

I wouldnt recommend doing it without clips if you don't want it catching on fire. Ask cuisinartvette. If you still don't, at least install the fuel rail and see how much play the injectors have in em. Not all injectors are the same length.

I installed LS6 injectors in my LT1 w/o the clips because I didn't feel like filing the grooves for them.
