Default Question about Manifold Absolute Temp Sensor

I've got 1 wire/plug left to hook up on this thing ('90 auto w/superram). According to the Helms manual it is for the Manifold Absolute Temp sensor. It is a black 2 wire connector. It is located at the rear of the manifold. I went to Advanced Auto and they had a 'Manifold Air Temp' sensor. I figured ok gotta be the same thing. Well the connector is completely different. My question is where does this sensor mount (I'm assuming in the bottom of the plenum but want to be sure), what does it look like, part #, and there is no way the plug I mentioned will reach if it is located in the hole in bottom of the plenum, so is there some sort of pigtail extension or something I need.

My other wiring harness was pretty well cooked in this area so that's why I have nothing to go off of. Thanks.

What you're more than likely looking for is a Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor, or MAP sensor. This plugs into a vacuum port, its a small black box to the rear of the intake. I'm not sure on superram mounting...

You might try AutoZone.

If they don't have it, try TPIS:
P/N 300-157, Temp. Sensor (MAT, '85-'91), $14.63
BTW, this is the same P/N as the coolant temp sensor.

I was wondering that because it looks identical to that. But anyone know about the connector issue I mentioned?

BTW it is the MAT sensor, not the MAP

I don't think there is a pigtail between the MAT and that connector??

Can you reroute the cable to reach under the plenum??

Or...you could get the MAT relocation kit to locate the sensor into the side of the air filter lid. The kit comes with:
-new MAT
-length of wires to reach from connector to front of engine
-blk spiral wrap around the wires
-rubber groumet
Then all you would need to do is take the new MAT to Lowe's hardware rack and get a brass plug to screw into the hole under the plenum.

I just installed the autozone piece, the plug fits in there, just pushes in farther than the original.

Just sent you an IM for details on your AutoZone sensor. I called and they said they didn't list anything like that.

The part # I got from Autozone was #SU109, Wells brand if that helps.
